Position SummaryThe Accounting Analyst will provide accounting and analysis support for capital investments as well as other accounting and manufacturing related tasks. Accountabilities - Prepare detailed annual budgets for all fixed asset investments and activities in collaboration with project managers. Budgets will include proposed capital spending, depreciation expense, and expected fixed asset write-offs. - Provide ongoing tracking and analysis that includes updating and publishing actual spending and forecasts vs. budget. - Work closely with project managers and other key managers to ensure spending is in accordance with budgets and published capital spending controls and procedures. - Prepare monthly journal entries as needed to accrue for spending, depreciation, or write-offs as needed. - Maintain fixed asset system within Gorton's ERP system. - Provide support in the capital proposal process for payback, ROI, and other financial implications. - Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis support as needed. - Provide support for other accounting related tasks. Qualifications Desired: - Desire for a career in Corporate Finance/Accounting - Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in Finance, Accounting, or related field - Strong business analysis skills (prefer some relevant work experience) - Well-developed PC skills - Ability to leverage information to develop insightful business judgment - Initiative - a self starter - Outstanding verbal and written communication skills - Strong interpersonal skills - Potential for advancement
