Role Overview:CliftonLarsonAllen (CLA) CLA Search has been retained by Greater Lynn Senior Services to identify a Controller to serve their team by overseeing the Accounting and reporting functions of GLSS and related affiliates.   • Lead the accounting administration through financial reporting, data-driven analysis and day-to-day operations.
  • Manage the planning, development, and monitoring of the fiscal administration in conjunction with the CFO.
  • Design and implement policies and procedures, internal controls, reporting mechanisms and audits to ensure compliance.
  • Implement best practices; ensures the integrity, accuracy and usefulness of all financial reports and data.
  • Oversee compliance with contracts and grant award specifications and additional external reporting.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report monthly operating results against budget; interpret financial data and make recommendations to support long -term financial health.
  • Supervise reporting systems ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements; accounting software meets organizational needs; test conversions, retain critical data and documentation.
  • Direct all audit activities as key liaison with auditing firm.
  • Participate in the development and execution of organization-wide strategies as instructed by the CFO.
  • Accounting & Financial Reporting for GLSS, IRSH, Lynn COA, ADRCGNS, Respite Coalition and Other Affiliates, establish and maintain Chart of Accounts.
  • Assess and maintain internal controls and oversee technology implementations, migrations, upgrades for the department
  • Oversee the integration and entry of all accounting data into the general ledger system.
  • Project cash inflows and outflows and assures there are adequate funds to meet future obligations.
  • Oversee centralized purchasing for the agency, for goods and services other than direct consumer subcontracted services, facilities related purchases and IT/Telecom equipment and services.Leadership
    • Participate in the development and execution of organization-wide strategies as instructed by the CFO.
    • Serve as mentor and coach to accounting staff, delegating effectively, and develop a high performing team.
    • Leverage the strengths of the finance staff by clarifying their roles and responsibilities while creating and promoting a positive and supportive work environment; serve as coach and mentor to develop a high performing team.
    • Collaborate with Human Resources to maintain payroll database and the administration of benefits.
    • Ensure Payroll, AP, AR staff remain abreast of best practices, laws, compliance, knowledge and training.What You'll Need:
      • Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting; MBA preferred, CPA required; 7-10 years progressive experience in nonprofit finance.
      • Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state laws and regulations, GAAP, audits, regulatory requirements and compliance
      • Thought leader with a proven track record in providing guidance on organizational risks; opportunities and strategies
      • Advanced technical skills; Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, etc..), QuickBooks, Cloud-Based Software; system implementation
      • Proven track record in building processes, systems and teams to support organizational innovation
      • Strong communication skills; written and verbal; natural leader with exceptional collaborative skills
      • Detail-oriented, highly organized, independent problem solver, team player, ability to meet deadlines, prioritizes and multitasks
