Job Description:

Shooter Detection Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of, is seeking a Quality Assurance Test Engineer (Windows Platform & IoT Devices) with experience working with development teams to deliver the upmost in high-quality, reliable enterprise products. In this role, you will be responsible for overall system quality including networked devices, software apps, and 3rd-party product integrations. This role is based in our Rowley, MA office and offers flexible hours and hybrid work-from-remote options.
As our QA Test Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to define test methodology and procedures while working with diverse industry-leading products in the Guardian platform, IoT sensors, server-based device management applications, situational awareness, and notification GUIs as well as numerous other integrations.
You will lead the company's efforts to validate the SW and FW releases for our key technologies which are deployed in a variety of network environments including IPv4/6, TLS, DHCP/Static, DNS, On-Prem and Cloud.

  • Write test procedures and requirements for both Manual and Automated Tests
  • Execute manual and automated tests to validate releases of Sensor Firmware, Server SW, Customer Tools as well as 3rd-Party integrations.
  • Collaborate with development team and stakeholders to ensure testability
  • Work with QA automation engineer to automate network and GUI level testing
    • Experience testing network-based products and PC software apps
    • 2+ years of QA Test development and execution
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Good diagnostic skills using standard, advanced and custom SW test tools
    • Experience with network data trace tools such as Wireshark
    • Experience with Virtual Machines onsite and Cloud
      • Passion for being up to date on emerging technologies
      • Experience with MATLAB, Python and/or other scripting languages
      • Interest in developing/expanding skill sets including automation and system test
