Job Description:
Senior TechOps Engineer - Greater BostonWe are currently
conducting a search for a Senior TechOps Engineer with a client of
ours who is a growing financial services company in the Greater
Boston area. This person will be primarily responsible for the
driving the systems administration and automation of all systems
platforms. This person will be closely working with Systems,
Security, and Network Engineering teams as well as external
resources to design secure, technology solutions. This role is a
predominant remote role but requires to be on-site when needed.
On-call rotation every 12 weeks is required.
Responsibilities:Develop and document system monitoring and
alerting standards for all platforms through automation via
scripting and applications.Provide system administration activities
across cloud-hosted servers, applications (Microsoft Azure, AWS, or
Google Platform).Be the main escalation point for support-related
server and application issues.Work alongside Systems teams in order
to design and implement systems and solutions as part of technology
and business line-sponsored initiatives.Work with junior staff
members to procure, build, and implement servers, systems and
processes to support the design.Be a strong technical resource to
staff members on the TechOps team, assisting in ad-hoc tasks and
providing formal coaching and development efforts.Help guide the
platform and security direction for the organization by monitoring
industry trends, facilitating proof-of-concept exercises, and
recommending specific technologies to pursue.Qualifications: Strong
professional experience implementing and managing various
technology projects and platforms.Professional administration
experience of server operating systems (Windows & Linux).Strong
experience in cloud-based monitoring such as Log Analytics, New
Relic, along with on-premise monitoring solutions such as (SCOM,
Splunk, SolarWinds).Professional experience supporting cloud-native
SaaS applications such as Microsoft Office 365 and
Salesforce.Strong skills in TCP/IP networking and security concepts
are required.Experience in managing and configuring load balancers
such as F5, Citrix, etc.Experience with virtualization platforms,
such as HyperV, Nutanix AHV, KVM, and VMWare ESX.Familiarity with
cloud concepts such as containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and
cloud management platforms.Automation experience through enterprise
distribution and configuration management platforms (SCCM, Ansible,
Jenkins, Ivanti, Puppet, or Chef).Strong understanding of endpoint
security suite products, and enterprise class backup systems
(Commvault)Significant experience in one or more scripting
languages such as PowerShell, Perl, and Python.Understanding of
application programming interfaces (API) and how to
monitor/troubleshoot access to API-driven applications.Using source
code repositories such as GIT and understanding how to leverage
them.Demonstrated ability to implement and support scalable
