Job Description Job Description Job Title: Quality Inspector Job Description As a Quality Inspector, your primary responsibilities will include verifying in-process and completed products to ensure they meet all applicable dimensions, parts, and procedures. You will conduct process and product audits, enter inspection data into the quality management system, and generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for noncompliant products. Additionally, you will create Quality Control Plans (QCPs) for new builds and production runs. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high quality standards. Responsibilities Verify in-process and completed products to ensure compliance with all applicable dimensions, parts, and procedures. Conduct process and product audits as required. Enter QC inspection data into the quality management system. Generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for noncompliant products. Create Quality Control Plans (QCPs) in advance of first-time builds and production runs. Inspect finished box assemblies and small components. Follow detailed instructions provided by customers. Inspect harnesses during assembly, using microscopes and measurement tools. Check wires and small components for errors. Essential Skills Ability to use hand and measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, and micrometers. Ability to read and understand Bills of Materials (BOMs), Process Specifications, Engineering Drawings, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Experience in PCB (Printed Circuit Board), cable, and box assemblies. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Additional Skills & Qualifications J-STD certification. Knowledge of IPC-610 and IPC-620 standards. Clear vision at 20/20 or better at 20 feet or more. Ability to identify and distinguish colors. Work Environment This position requires a detail-oriented and precise approach to work, with a strong emphasis on quality control and adherence to standards. The role involves frequent use of measuring tools and analysis of production components, ensuring all quality specifications are met. Inspectors work closely with assemblers in a cell-based environment, primarily conducting visual inspections with occasional use of calipers. The work involves standing, walking, lifting, and using hands to type for 1/3 to 2/3 of the time. The ability to work using a microscope and lift items weighing up to 20 pounds is necessary. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cranston, RI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
