Location: Andover, MA Area Confidential Search A well-established
manufacturing company in the plastics and engineered materials
industry is seeking a Manufacturing Cost Estimator to support
quoting and cost analysis for custom, precision-manufactured
components. This role is critical to ensuring accurate,
competitive, and timely estimates that support customer proposals
and operational planning. Position Summary The Manufacturing Cost
Estimator is responsible for developing detailed cost estimates for
manufactured parts and assemblies by analyzing customer
specifications, engineering drawings, materials, labor, machining
processes, and overhead. The ideal candidate has a strong
understanding of manufacturing operations, cost drivers, and
cross-functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities Prepare
accurate and timely cost estimates for custom manufacturing
projects Review RFQs, engineering drawings, specifications, and
customer requirements Analyze material, labor, machine time,
tooling, outside processing, and overhead costs Partner with
engineering, operations, purchasing, and sales to validate
assumptions and pricing Identify cost risks, margin opportunities,
and process efficiencies during the quoting process Maintain
estimating models, pricing tools, and historical cost data Support
continuous improvement initiatives related to estimating accuracy
and cycle time Ensure estimates align with operational capabilities
and business objectives Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in
Engineering, or related field preferred. HS Diploma/GED required 3
years of estimating or cost analysis experience in a manufacturing
environment Strong understanding of machining, fabrication,
plastics, andor engineered components Ability to read and interpret
technical drawings and specifications Proficiency with Excel and
ERP systems Strong analytical, organizational, and communication
skills Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
