Job Description SummaryA Support Equipment Program Manager is
technical program manager role responsible for creating,
maintaining, and supporting all the assembly/disassembly and
transportation equipment for assigned engines. Drives initiatives
to improve the effectiveness of the Engineering function and
interfaces with other functions to provide effective coordination
of metrics, dashboards, functional processes, and cross-functional
initiative coordination. Impacts departmental operations and
responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but
is focused on execution of activities within an operating
discipline covered by standard functional practices and
procedures.Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing and managing cross functional,
technology led, or product focused programs. - Manages budgets and
interfaces with contractors, suppliers, customers and internal
functions. - Manages program resource and budget
allocation/integration. Manages schedule, budget, and tollgate
process for NPI, requisition, or sustaining programs. - Influences
the programs to meet customer CTQs.
- Developing in-depth knowledge of support equipment design
process and engine assembly process. Uses prior experience and
acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
- In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this
understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how
work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the
area.
- Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose
different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance.
Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve
straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic
thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal
sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
- Driving improvements for on time delivery, first time yield,
and cost reduction for equipment and tooling designs.
- Working with customers and internal shops to identify equipment
and tooling needs
- Presenting at multiple levels of the organization
- Occasional travel to support tooling validations, customer and
internal shop support, and program meetings.Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from
an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED
with at least 4 years of experience in Support Equipment
Design).
- 3 years of experience in program management related to
engineering and design
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret
clearanceDesired Characteristics
- Established project management skills.
- Tool Design experience
- General knowledge in jet engine assembly process
- Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
- Work effectively with a team in a horizontal structure
- Familiarity with design, test and analysis tools and
systems
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong presentation skills and public speaking
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- PC proficiency
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Ability to document, plan, and execute projects.This role is
