hiring for a Protective Services Worker. - -This wonderful
non-profit serves people age 60 and older, adults living with
disabilities, and their families and caregivers in Lynn, Lynnfield,
Nahant, Saugus, and Swampscott, Massachusetts for more than 45
years. - They - provide a continuum of community health and social
services to help people maintain their independence, safely and
with dignity. - Providing a broad range of services including home
care services; nutrition programs; transportation assistance;
housing supports; clinical and protective services etc. - The
agency recently received a second prestigious 3-year accreditation
for excellence in case management and care coordination from the
National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).The Protective
Services Case Worker is responsible for investigating reports of
abuse of the elder and
coordinating appropriate protective service plans, crises support,
and compliance with protective

communityResponsibilities
- Receives and review intake reports regarding the abuse of
elderly persons.
- Responds to emergency situations when necessary with
supervisory support.
- Completes thorough investigation of abuse allegations, risks to
elder and elder needs.
- -Conducts protective assessments of abused elderly persons,
their system of support and care providers.
- -Evaluates the functional capacity, situations, and resources
of the abused elderly person, or assists in arranging for
evaluations including competency evaluations.
- Develops protective services treatment plans with the abused
elder.
- -Provides or arranges for the provision of protective and other
necessary services for the abused elder.
- Pursues legal counsel and/or advice to obtain necessary legal
action such as protective orders and
guardianship through the courts. Refer cases to the District
Attorney's Office as necessary.
- Supports/develops community network and resources to address
necessary elder abuse needs.
- Provides training and education to the community and other
service providers on elder abuse mandates and issues.
- Participates in on-call beeper rotation for elder abuse hotline
coverage, as needed.Experience
- Master's Degree in Human Services with one (1) year of related
experience or Bachelor's Degree
in Human Services with two (2) years' experience.
- Must have firsthand experience dealing with high risk/crisis
situations, previous knowledge and/or work experience in the Case
Management or Behavioral Health field is ideal. - - - - - - - - - -
