Payroll and Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team.
The person in this position will be responsible for processing US
payroll and vendor invoices in a timely manner. The ideal candidate
will possess an in-depth knowledge of US payroll rules and
regulations and the ability to identify process improvements within
Workday, our HRIS system.Primary Payroll Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing all aspects of the company
payroll
- Electronically transmit payroll on a bi-weekly schedule
- Monitor payroll registers, employee timecards and quarterly tax
filings within the Workday system
- In coordination with the Human Resources department, administer
employee leaves, benefits and compensation changes
- Register the company with new states as needed while
maintaining tax codes and workers compensation rates within
Workday
- Coordinate year-end tax reporting of W-2s and 1099s Primary
Accounts Payable Responsibilities:
- Enter vendor invoices with the proper general ledger account
and cost center into SAP
- Generate weekly payment of vendor invoices
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and/or vendor
disputes
- Compile necessary approval documentation prior to payment
processing
- Assist in month end reconciliation processRequired
Qualifications and Experience:
- Associate degree required; bachelor's preferred
- 4+ years of payroll processing experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel functions required
- Experience with financial software -- SAP and Workday
preferred
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with rapidly
changing priorities and competing deadlines
- Highly organized with keen attend to detail
