Job Description:
Role Summary
Leads the implementation of the quality strategy, with focus on
delivered quality, to achieve continuous improvement and minimize
the risk and cost of poor quality. Resolves internal and external
business challenges as an advocate for the customer to improve
products, processes, or services. Works closely with external
customers, to include the branches of the US military, the Defense
Contract Management Agency (DCMA), and foreign customers.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Serves as the Quality single point of contact externally for
the customer and internally for the program. Maintains expertise on
quality system policies and procedures.
- Monitors customer satisfaction and advocates for the customer
within the supply chain.
- Partners with manufacturing and assembly sites, as well as
product line teams, to resolve hardware non-conformances and other
quality issues.
- Reviews engineering drawings and specifications to understand
potentiation non-conformances.
- Ensures root causes are found and robust corrective and
preventative actions are taken.
- Leads quality escape containment actions and the field action
plan process.
- Drives quality improvement using data-based decision making and
by applying existing technologies, approaches, and
methodologies.
- Advises program and contracting teams on quality requirements
and the quality system.
- Presents project plans, technical roadmaps, risks, and
recommendations to senior business leaders within technical space.
Also, will present occasionally to senior leaders in partner
technical teams.
- Communicates solutions across the Quality function and with
cross-functional partner organizations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
Accredited degree(s) in engineering field of study preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing,
manufacturing quality, supplier quality, technical customer
support, or equivalent military role.
Desired Characteristics
- Experience as a member of or directly working with the US
military.
- Experience in Lean manufacturing, product engineering, or
customer quality.
- Understanding of the regulatory requirements in the aviation
industry.
- Demonstrated ability to perform data and statistical
analysis.
- Experience conducting or hosting quality system audits.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with attention to
detail.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Power user of Microsoft Office suite, partially MS Excel and MS
PowerPoint.
