Job Description:
New England Biolabs (NEB) is inviting applications for the
position of Development Scientist I/II. The successful candidate
will work on goal-oriented projects within a dynamic group of
polymerase/amplification scientists to identify novel solutions to
complex amplification-related challenges. This position offers
opportunities to develop novel reagents and workflow solutions,
engage with customers, attend scientific conferences and learn from
technically- and commercially-focused colleagues across the
company.Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and characterize amplification-related technologies,
assays, enzymes, reagents, and kits
- Collaborate with colleagues across the company (research,
production, marketing, etc.) to successfully launch products
relevant to current and cutting-edge workflows
- Actively engage with customers to address technical needs or
concerns
- Create content for technical and marketing materials
- Present findings to internal and external
customers/collaboratorsRequired Qualifications and Experience:
- Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology or related field
required with a minimum of2 years' experience preferred
- Strong molecular biology skills with a focus on
characterization of reverse transcriptases or applications
involving reverse transcription (e.g., cDNA synthesis, RT-qPCR,
RACE)
- An ability to balance multiple projects in a dynamic
environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a
multidisciplinary team
- Effective verbal and written communication
- A proven track record as a creative and resourceful problem
solver
- Scientific enthusiasm and integrity
- Customer support experience and mindset preferredNEB currently
