Job Description:

1 year of experienceThe Nuclear Med Technologist is responsible for
the following:Performs routine nuclear medicine imaging which can
include complex imaging examinations and may include attenuation
correction and/or diagnostic CT studies as directed and prescribed
by a physician.Reviews and evaluates requisitions for NM imaging
procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining
appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and
clinical signs for routine examinations.Assesses patients' and
parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to
instructions and develops plan for adjusting to patients' specific
needs.Receives, inspects and handles radioactive materials used in
patient examinations following established hospital, departmental
and regulatory requirements.Adheres to USP 797 guidelines.Performs
quality control on the cameras as required.Performs quality control
in the Radiopharmacy as required.Prepares and administers required
radiopharmaceuticals/contrast and performs radionuclide imaging of
organs and organ systems, dynamic studies, assays of body fluids
and tissues, including in-vitro and in-vivo radio-assays.Records,
analyzes and prepares data and image enhancements for diagnostic
interpretation by physician.Prepares and administers required
pharmaceutical per departmental protocol.Places next day
radiopharmaceutical orders.Completes all required documentation
accurately and in a timely manner.Performs laboratory work (i.e
drawing blood).Provides exceptional care, exceptional
service.Follows Departmental QC/Exam Data Integrity Workflow
Expectations.Practices High Reliability Training.Responds to the
uniqueness of the patient, creating a supportive environment for
the patient and the family.Reports equipment malfunctions through
INeedit.Assists in organizing and maintaining daily operations of
the modality.Identifies scheduling errors.Works with others to
promote and encourage each persons contribution on the
interdisciplinary team toward achieving optimal patient goals and
outcomes.Takes on call and is assessable nights and weekends per
policy.Participates in departmental and hospital meetings.Completes
all required documentation accurately and in a timely
manner.Complies with ETU policy.Complies with HIPAA
regulations.Practices the 6 core values of the Hospital;

accountability.Furthers professional education and maintains
knowledge of current regulations and standards, policies and
procedures.Maintains up-to-date
licensure/certification/registration in departmental file.The
Nuclear Med Technologist must have the following:Registered by the
Certification Nuclear Medicine Technological (CNMT) and/or American
Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).Must meet,
successfully complete, and maintain the CNMT/CT and/or ARRT
certificationBLS certification.Advanced CT licensure is required
within one year with a 6 month grace period from date of
