us in tackling some of the most complex and meaningful challenges
in medicine. We are seeking a highly motivated, scientifically
curious, and collaborative Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP)
scientist to work on life-changing therapies for patients. As a
hands-on QSP scientist, you will work alongside experienced mentors
and cross-functional teams to develop and apply AI-powered QSP
models that integrate deep biological knowledge, pharmacology, and
preclinical and clinical data to drive pivotal decisions in drug
discovery and development. Primary Responsibilities: Design,
develop, and implement QSP models to support target evaluation,
candidate molecule selection, translational research, and clinical
development Synthesize literature, incorporate insights from
cross-functional teams, and integrate preclinical, translational,
and clinical datasets to build mechanistic models of disease
biology and drug action Perform parameter estimation, model
simulations and model analysis to inform drug discovery and/or
development programs in a timely manner. Clearly communicate
modeling results to both technical and non-technical project teams
to guide decision making. Provide scientific insights to project
teams to support the selection of the right target, molecule, dose,
patient population, and development strategies. Champion the
application of QSP modeling across Lilly by sharing impactful
results and building internal visibility for the discipline
Maintain documentation of model development Represent the group and
increase external visibility through scientific presentations at
external conferences and meetings Author peer-reviewed manuscripts
Basic Qualifications: PhD in quantitative pharmacology, systems
biology, bioengineering, applied mathematics or related discipline
Experience with developing ODE-based models for biological system
Experience with R, Matlab/Simbiology, Python, NONMEM, Monolix or
other related software for model development Experience with
parameter estimation, sensitivity analysis Additional
Skills/Preferences: 3 years of experience in developing
QSP/mechanistic PKPD models 2 years of experience working in
pharmaceutical/biotech industry Experience with development of
virtual patient populations Strong understanding of PK/PD,
pharmacology, drug discovery and development Experience working
with complex biological and clinical datasets Enthusiasm for
integrating AI/ML tools and emerging technologies into modeling
workflows Familiarity with metabolic disease biology is a strong
plus Strong problem solving skills both independently and
collaboratively Excellent time-management and organizational
skills; thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment Ability to
clearly communicate scientific concepts and modeling results to
multidisciplinary audiences Strong publication record Eli Lilly and

on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic
location. The anticipated wage for this position is $166,500 -
$244,200 Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a
company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual
performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit
program to eligible employees, including eligibility to participate
in a company-sponsored 401(k); pension; vacation benefits;
eligibility for medical, dental, vision and prescription drug
